About the role

Anglicare have a great opportunity for a maximum term, 2-year contract, full-time and part-time position available for a Counsellor to join our Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) based in Parramatta. In this role you will be undertaking a range of Counselling and Group work services which aim to increase the well-being and safety of women and children.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Ensure the best possible outcome for clients is achieved by advocating for clients, establishing strong network links within local area in order to provide strong external referral pathways
  • Ensure the MBCP service is well known in the community by participating in developing resources that promote and advertise the service to clients, local forums and other community organisations
  • Ensure individual needs of clients are met by providing a case plan that is developed with the client, is clearly defined and with achievable outcomes
  • Ensure a full client caseload is maintained by working within funding guideline and program targets
  • Ensure documentation meets organisational, legislative and funding requirements by completing and maintaining appropriate client documentation and statistical information

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or related behavioural sciences
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • Registered with appropriate body: e.g. PACFA for counselling or working towards registration
  • Training and clinical experience in working with perpetrators of domestic and family violence
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous demonstrated experience in assessment and counselling
  • Previous experience in group facilitation
