Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) is an independent think tank creating solutions for a prosperous zero-emissions Australia. We have been recognised with prestigious awards locally and internationally for research on both sector and place-based decarbonisation plans.

Our role in the climate movement is to shift political discourse and accelerate policy change to address the climate crisis. We do this by publishing ambitious and credible zero-emissions research, engaging influential decision-makers, and using compelling and fresh narratives in the media.

Staff are drawn to BZE because of our focus on research and projects that are most worthwhile in terms of their potential to accelerate and reduce emissions. We are the only Australian think tank with an expert volunteer program that draws on the best minds in business, industry and academia.

Our ambitious technical solutions are credible because of our deep connections and networks in business and industry. Not only do we work with industry to design our solutions, but many of our expert volunteers come from the sectors in greatest need of decarbonisation solutions. This credibility is what makes our research attractive to decision-makers and all sides of politics.

We are excited for this new role, Head of Government Relations, to help us create a policy environment that incentivises the strongest action on climate. The successful candidate will have access to our network of influential experts to help profile the benefits of real-world climate solutions, and will be supported by our award-winning research team to develop compelling policy solutions with bi-partisan appeal.

About you:

You are likely to be an experienced public servant or adviser with more than a decade of experience working in the federal parliament and public service. You have exceptional networks and communication skills, with a track record of delivering bipartisan support for public policy. We highly regard applicants who have worked in ministerial offices and have a demonstrated track record for influencing public policy outcomes.
