Tupaia.org is looking for a UI/UX designer! We build software that supports health and education projects in the Pacific Islands and other low and middle income countries. Our aim is to make the experience intuitive and beautiful, so that it is a pleasure for users to explore interactive graphs, maps, and other visualisations to enable evidence-informed decision making, even if they are not totally comfortable with tech or data.

We have an existing designer who does an amazing job, but is only available one day a week. This role would be for three days per week, initially being led by the existing designer, but with a view to take over entirely in the new year.

Our ideal person:

• 3+ years of professional UI/UX experience
• Experience in user flows, wireframes and prototyping
• Ability to craft thoughtful and extensible UI Designs
• Familiar with design systems and Figma
• Always questioning how we can make things simpler or more intuitive for our users
• Confidence to become the in-house expert on all things UI/UX when our current designer finishes up

Right now we're working remotely until restrictions ease but the office is on Nicholson St in Brunswick East - close to Lygon Street with its Cafés, restaurants and bars - and there is a big park just behind our building.
