About the role:

Bethany is excited to advertise the position of Team Leader – Child and Family located in the Barwon Orange Door. This position is full time, fixed term for a period of 9 months.

This position is a leadership position for Child and Family Team in the management of intake responsibilities within the Barwon Orange Door and access points across the Barwon area. This role provides leadership and staff management in accordance with the adopted integrated approach, and the relevant industrial instruments and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively as part of an integrated approach to respond to the needs of children, young people and families experiencing family violence and vulnerability concerns.
  • Be responsible for the management and coordination of an Integrated team of Senior Practitioners and Practitioners from multiple specialist areas and partner organisations.
  • Be responsible for the support, mentoring and development of Bethany Community Support Senior Practitioners and Practitioners.
  • Provide expert leadership in overseeing the Child and Family intake response within the Barwon Orange Door, applying the Best Interests Framework to promote the safety, stability, wellbeing and development of children and young people.
  • Provide leadership to Practitioners in the Integrated Assessment and Planning Team and effectively collaborate with the BOD Assessment and Planning Team Leaders to coordinate referrals for further assessment to ensure a robust intake system.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will hold:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing leadership and expert advice to staff in a dynamic and challenging program environment that supports vulnerable children and families.
  • Advanced understanding and expertise in applying the Best Interest’s Case practice model and MARAM in undertaking dynamic risk assessments, decision-making and management as it relates to children, young people and families and male perpetrators of family violence.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and the impact for women, children and families, as well as patterns of collusion and minimisation utilised by family violence perpetrators.
