About the role:

Bethany is excited to advertise for the role of Children and Young Person’s Practice Leader. This position is full time and ongoing and is based at the Barwon Orange Door. The core purpose of this role is to provide evidence informed guidance and practice leadership on risk assessment, management and planning and provide expert advice to the Orange Door workforce in relation to complex family vulnerability and wellbeing interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support practice that prioritises evidence informed child and family wellbeing interventions.
  • Lead, mentor and develop Orange Door practitioners and team leaders in child and family wellbeing practice.
  • Liaise with and provide specialist or secondary consultation to organisations and services within The Orange Door network in order to discuss service issues and ensure ongoing safety of children and victim survivors.
  • Work collaboratively with area based high risk family violence Coordinator to support multi-agency responses to people referred to high-risk responses from The Orange Door network.
  • Provide sound judgement and authoritative advice on risks, priorities, accountability, and practice issues for service improvements to The Orange Door team and where relevant, the Orange Door Manager and/or relevant Orange Door governance groups.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership and integrated practice approach.

About you:

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, social science, human services or equivalent.
  • Established expertise and capability to lead and embed Children and Young Person’s practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessment and risk management in relation to infants, children and young people.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, advance written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading family violence practice within complex service delivery contexts, particularly multi-disciplinary and multi-agency approaches.
