Access to Early Learning is an early intervention program that supports three year old children from families with complex needs to fully participate in quality universal early childhood education and care.

Bethany Community Support has been in operation for over 150 years and has supported individuals within the community through a number of programs. We have a broad range of programs which:

About the role:

Bethany is excited to advertise this new ongoing position funded by the Department of Education and Training (DET). The core purpose of this role is to provide intensive outreach home visiting support to families to building relationships with parents that encourage effective in-home learning, support children’s sustained engagement in kindergarten and provide strong collaboration with early childhood education and care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides intensive outreach support to families
  • Identifies and supports families’ access up to 15 hours of funded 3 year old kindergarten
  • Works with families to address any barriers to their child’s full participation in kindergarten
  • Strengthens the home learning environment by developing parents capacity to support their child’s/children’s learning
  • Builds capacity in the local service system, including providing mentoring and professional learning for educators supporting children
  • Collaborates closely with other services and supports families to navigate and engage with relevant services

About you:

  • A tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education and Development, Social Work or other related behavioural sciences preferably at degree level and a minimum of 12 months experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, risk and needs assessment frameworks and appropriate application of these.
  • High level organisational skills, the ability to work autonomously in the context of varied and complex competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social inclusion and social justice.
