The Opportunity

The Berry Street School is a specialist independent school consisting of four campuses based in Ballarat, Morwell, Noble Park and Shepparton. We provide a Victorian Curriculum and VCAL program for students aged 12 to 18 years who have become disengaged from mainstream education, and deliver a trauma-informed education model.

The Morwell Campus is currently seeking a Casual Relief Teacher to contribute to a team who support and empower our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Step in and support teaching and learning whilst making use of the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM).
  • Team teach and work as part of a team and contribute to ongoing curriculum development on an ad hoc basis.
  • Support the engagement of students within an inclusive and equitable educational environment implementing a trauma-aware approach to behaviour management.

About You

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with staff and students
  • Experience in working creatively to engage young people in their education
  • Strong understanding positive education approaches that are trauma informed.
  • Able to successfully work in a team environment.
  • Qualified Teacher with a current Victoria Institute of Teaching registration.
  • Familiarity with BSEM will be advantageous.
