About the Role:

The Adolescent Family Violence Service (AFVS) within the Northern Integrated Family Services program provides a Case Management model of support for young people within the context of their family. It is underpinned by an assertive outreach and engagement approach. The service engages young people to address issues that contribute to, or result from, their use of violence. These issues may include drug and alcohol misuse, mental health vulnerability, homelessness and disengagement from education.

Depending on the Victorian restrictions at the time of the successful applicant starting, this role may be on a working from home arrangement due to the COVID-19 situation. if so, the successful applicant will be expected to integrate into the team from home to begin with, slowly reintegrating into the office and performing outreach as Victorian restrictions are lifted.

About you:

You will hold a tertiary qualification in Early Years, Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or a related discipline along with an excellent understanding of family and intimate partner violence, its causal and contributing factors, and its relation to gender and power. 

You will have demonstrated ability to provide high quality adolescent-focused Case Management and support to the wider family to address factors contributing to the use of violence by referred clients and as a senior worker, provide guidance and leadership where appropriate to direct service staff within the broader team.
