The Opportunity

The Program Manager provides leadership and oversight of specialised and targeted programs within the Child, Youth & Families area which have a specialist focus on early intervention and family services. The role includes providing supervision, support and consultation to Team members within these program areas. The Program Manager is a member of the management team within the Child, Youth & Families program and participates in strategic and program development, including regularly reviewing practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in particular experienced in leading, supervising and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply a range of assessment, intervention and interactive skills working within statutory and non-statutory case management framework to support children, young people and families with significant vulnerabilities including family violence.
  • Demonstrate well-developed individual and systemic advocacy skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrated an understanding of, and respect for, the needs of children with a disability; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and linguistic diversity (CALD), including cultural safety for children from CALD backgrounds.

About You

  • Extensive experience managing small teams.
  • The ability to supervise and support staff in their day-to-day activities to ensure the clients receive the services they require in a safe and effective manner. 
  • Demonstrated experience in inter-agency liaison, consultation and the building of partnerships with key stakeholders and relevant service sectors.
