The aim of this position is to work with eligible clients to empower them with knowledge and information to assist them in their settlement goals. We aim to empower clients to be independent, socially connected and working towards economic and personal well being.
Importantly this position will be facilitating the culturally diverse Women’s Group which involves supporting volunteers, recruiting participants, assessing and managing risks, and organising information sessions.
You will need experience in working with people of refugee background. You must enjoy working with people and be able to improvise, create and think on your feet.
You will also need good written English, good communication skills and be able to report on progress and outcomes.
A second and/or third language that reflects the dominant cohorts of new arrivals to Bendigo will be an asset in this role.
A qualification in diploma in Community Services or bachelor that relates to delivering this project or related discipline is required for this position.
