The Family Services Team works with the most vulnerable and high-risk families and provides individual support and case co-ordination to children, youth and families that support families to make sustainable changes in the best interests of children and young people.

The Children, Youth and Family (CYFA) Act 2005 requires that family services, child protection and placement services work in ways that reflect the Best Interest Principles and the associated provisions of the CYFA.

To be considered for these positions you will:

  • Have a qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Community Welfare, Community Development or related discipline;
  • Have experience providing assertive outreach, case management and support to vulnerable children, young people and families;
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the current issues which impact on vulnerable families in our community and have experience in being able to support families to identify and achieve their goals with a strong lens and understanding of family violence and its impact on families;
  • Possess good organisational and time management skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
