Be Centre is an exciting, impactful charity providing one-to-one Play Therapy for kids aged 3–12 years. We are dedicated to early intervention, stopping cycles of harm, and helping children heal from difficulties and major trauma, so they can thrive. Our mission is to provide hope and healing through Play Therapy, and to empower children who are experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties to be the best they can be.
It is estimated that 1 in 7 children has a mental health issue. Mental health disorders can significantly impact family life and adversely affect children’s learning. We predict that mental health issues will become more prominent as the economic effects of COVID-19 become apparent.
The Clinical Manager role is at the heart of Be Centre’s need to deliver critical services to its clients. The role provides leadership, management and clinical support to Be Centre’s team of play therapists, parent counsellors, play therapy interns, and Intake Clinician.
Our ideal candidate has formal qualifications in play or expressive therapy with a solid understanding of the mental health issues arising in children. You will be a natural leader and communicator who thrives on supporting and enabling your team to be their best so we can heal as many children as possible.
Your experience means you can develop and contribute to new programs, partnerships, and clinical policies and procedures.
Your passion means you can be the clinical voice of Be Centre with potential funders, partners and other engagements.
This is a full time role but part-time may be considered.
Be Centre is the leading provider of play therapy in Australia. We are pioneers, leaders, and advocates.
Our Play Therapists are highly trained mental health professionals with degrees in social work, counselling, nursing and/or psychology with additional post-graduate qualifications in play therapy.
Our flagship program is called Hear Me Play and is a one-to-one play therapy for children aged 3-12 years with weekly sessions over 12 or more weeks.
Our ancillary programs include Art Club which is a transitional program for children who have completed Hear Me Play. We supported children and their families in bushfire impacted regions of Australia in 2020/21 through specially designed play bags for children as well as a 3-day Festival of Play program for children and families.
We are proud of the work we do and our positive impact is clearly demonstrated in our attached 2021 Impact Measurement Report.
