This organisation is a leading Australian medical research institute, pioneering research breakthroughs focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and cure of health issues affecting Australians and the wider global population.

This contract role role comes at an incredibly exciting time to join, managing the existing Major Gifts and Trusts & Foundations program. Working collaboratively with the CEO and board, you will use your expert relationship skills to manage individuals and foundations, secure gifts and lead on all stewardship plans.

The Foundation consists of a small team and we are looking for someone who can manage the end to end of the donor journey. This role will suit both Philanthropy professionals and also Fundraisers from broad revenue stream backgrounds who thrive in managing relationships with any type of donor (i.e. partnerships or community).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the program of major donors and trusts and foundations.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders; new major donors, pre-existing major donors and foundations.
  • Manage the existing pipeline and secure ongoing gifts.
  • Continue to develop donor acquisition strategies.
  • Conduct continued prospect research of new major donor and foundation prospects.
  • Provide outstanding and effective donor stewardship across the portfolio.
  • Develop communication materials for the engagement of major donors and trusts.
  • Report back on outcomes and budgets etc.
  • Attend and speak at networking events in order to engage donors and develop relationships.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the institute including clinicians, researchers and the board.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience in successfully developing and managing a portfolio of donors, within a Philanthropy setting or other Fundraising space such a Community, Corporate, Bequests, Events etc.
  • Background in personally securing revenue.
  • Ability to manage donors across the donor journey from prospect through to ask.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing a pipeline.
  • Donor acquisition experience and a passion for developing donor relationships.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering financial results.
  • High level communication skills both verbal and written.
