About the organisation:

CAGES Foundation, located in Surry Hills, is a private ancillary fund established in 2009 by Paul and Sandra Salteri as a vehicle for their family's structured giving. It is a values-driven organisation that funds organisations working to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children with a safe environment to grow up healthy, happy, and secure in culture and identity. In 2021 it was awarded Philanthropy Australia's Indigenous grant maker of the year award for its partnership with Maari Ma Health Corporation.

Role Summary:

This four-day position has responsibility for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Foundation. The role will have a broad range of duties, including database management, diary, and travel management, board communication (including the preparation of board papers), the implementation of grant-making processes, managing Foundation communication, compliance, and providing support to the Executive Officer (EO) and the Executive Director (ED).

Key Responsibilities

• General office administration (mail collection, stationery, and grocery supplies)
• Provide planning support for foundation’s activities, meetings, video conferences, and site visits
• Update and maintain the database and company website (Wordpress experience would be advantageous)
• Handle and field new enquiries and liaise with existing partners

Essential criteria:

• Have a deep respect and understanding of First Nations culture
• Excellent interpersonal skills and appreciate the need for discretion
• Technically literate and confident in learning new systems (Wordpress and Smartygrants knowledge advantageous)
