About the Organisation

Food insecurity is a growing problem, requiring a huge, coordinated response; Foodbank NSW & ACT are on hand to fight hunger.

1 in 6 Australian adults haven’t had enough to eat in the last year. On top of this, 1.2 million children have gone hungry during the same period.

Each month they provide 339,200 people across our state and territory with food and grocery assistance. They bridge the gap between the food and grocery industry’s surplus items and those going without food. Their employees and volunteers are determined to end hunger, and this is your opportunity to join them in this clear mission.

About the Role

The Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy will be an experienced Fundraiser with a background in building and nurturing relationships across Corporates and Major Donors. You will have passion, authenticity, and ambition. You will have experience in delivering high value partnerships and have the ability to identify and drive growth opportunities across a range of potential donors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the strategy for Corporate partnerships, Major Gifts and Trust and Foundations
  • Work with an engaged and incredibly well networked CEO and board to utilise their amazing networks to cultivate new relationships
  • Partner with Donor republic who will support you on the strategic set up of a partnerships and philanthropy programme
  • Build on the current income being generated through these streams to set structures around these programmes
  • End to end donor management from identification, research, planning, engagement, asking/closing a gift and stewarding the relationship
  • Create compelling and engaging donor proposals and cases for support
  • Design effective stewardship plans and engagement strategies
  • Work with the incredible volunteer and delivery staff to seek out funding opportunities
  • Manage and grow the Fundraising team within this space building a partnerships and philanthropy team that is high-performing and highly skilled
  • Responsible for budget setting and financial reporting across these areas of revenue generation

Skills

  • Strategic experience across relationships Fundraising to include Corporate Partnerships and ideally Major Gifts
  • Demonstrated track record of setting up Fundraising programmes that are strategic, structured, and ambitious
  • A background in identifying and nurturing high level relationships across a range of donors to include large scale Corporate Partnerships
  • The ability to build long lasting, committed connections with HNWI and executive business leaders
  • Track record of bringing innovative creative thinking and fresh ideas to an organisation
  • Proven experience in personally managing donors from prospect through to ask with the ability to set up engaging and meaningful donor journeys and communications plans
  • Experience working with a CEO and board to utilise their networks for Fundraising activities
  • Strong people management experience with the capability to build a high performing team
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present, pitch and liaise with senior stakeholders
