With the advent of the NDIS and the planned changes to My Aged Care, Parkinson’s NSW has developed an approach which best aligns with connecting carers and the people they care for, with affordable and accessible services.

About the role

The Donor Processing/Accounts Receivable Officer reports to the COO and works closely with the Fundraising Manager and Database Manager - this role is a key position that delivers on the donor experience and internal processes.

  • Daily donation processing and database updates (ensuring timely and accurate processing and receipting of transactions)
  • Work with the Database Manager and Fundraising Manager to update data from third-party providers; liaise with external third-party organisations, to inform donor changes and ensure data being provided meets their needs and the needs of supporters
  • Ensure donor records and membership registry are constantly updated from information received via appeal, email, phone, mail returns, and online transactions; maintain high-quality data within the database (including importing new supporter details, deduping)
  • Be responsible for correct coding and recording of payments and donations to General Ledger and reconciling monthly accounts against the ledger
  • Provide reporting on specific program performance as required
  • Drive and implement process improvements to ensure the database continues to meet donor’s needs including around privacy and security
  • General office duties such as opening daily mail, answering main phone line, archiving donation information, attending to visitors and couriers, volunteer support, etc

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience with Accounts Receivable, CRMs (ideally Salesforce) – an appreciation of fundraising and the important role donors play in the organisation (you may have fundraised or volunteered yourself!)
  • Strong Excel, data entry and reporting skills are a must
  • High-level verbal and written communications – be able to communicate with professionalism, sensitivity, and empathy
  • Be able to multi-task without losing attention to detail, and have strong time management and organisational skills
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable – or knowledge of Parkinson’s disease and its impact on people living with it, their families, and carers
