The Shepherd Centre is a world-leading charity providing services to children who are deaf or have a hearing loss, to enable them to develop spoken language and go on to achieve their potential in life. Children completing our early intervention program typically have the same spoken language as other children their age and more than 90% go on to enter mainstream school.

The Role

The Data Analyst uses strong SQL and technical skills and is part of an Information and Analysis team providing data management, selections, reporting and analysis as well as general database support to the fundraising, clinical and finance teams.

The Analyst will use both SQL and the front-end applications in their role which will support the digital transformation journey for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage user support requests across multiple databases - training and troubleshooting or escalating to external vendors as appropriate
  • Work in close collaboration with other members of the I&A team and key business owners to provide reports/summary of data as needed
  • Work with other members of the I&A team and key system users to improve data quality
  • Using SQL - extract, manipulate and standardise data in preparation for database migration
  • Update comments in SQL code to support other users

Skills & Attributes

  • Intermediate-advanced skills in SQL
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication both verbal and written
  • The ability to build strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
