About the Role:

This role works collaboratively across the whole organisation to support the Black Dog Institute's strategic goals to maximise knowledge translation. They are responsible for creation of online content generating two way digital conversations aimed at reaching a wide range of audiences including 60% of people who experience symptoms of mental illness bu do not seek help.

Key Duties:

  • Update and maintain Black Dog Institute website content in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Assist the Digital marketing and Communications Manager in implementing website upgrades and the website roadmap
  • Stay abreast of current digital trends, including SEO best practices
  • Develop and drive a Social Media Plan within Digital Strategy, including regular reviews and revision
  • Curate and schedule content across Black Dog Institute social media assets, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
  • Oversee community management of social media channels
  • Assist in implementing social media campaigns across the organisation and provide best possible support to help others achieve targets
  • Create digital content supporting the organisational objectives
  • Collaborate with other Black Dog Institute units to curate and deliver EDMs
  • Assist in the production of video, audio, multimedia, presentations, graphics and any other assets as required
  • Lead and deliver digital advertising opportunities in line with Digital Strategy and Organisational objectives
  • Manage AdWords grant with external partner and seek other SEM opportunities
  • Develop and implement an always-on strategy for digital advertising
  • Report on key digital campaign metrics
  • Assist Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist with monthly reporting on social media activity
  • Work toward achieving the overall objectives of the Digital Strategy, marketing Work Plans and organisational objectives
  • Respond to enquiries received via the Black Dog Institute inbox
  • Provide digital communications support to Black Dog Institute researchers and other team members as necessary

About You:

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A relevant qualification in Marketing, Communications, Media or Design, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability for excellent written communication with high attention to detail, particularly for online channels
  • Demonstrated success in using and leveraging social media channels for both organic and paid activities
  • Demonstrated experience with SEM and SEO best practices
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud suite (including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience with website content management systems (CMS)
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communications skills and ability to work in a team
  • Well organised with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience within the non-profit sector and/or a commitment to non-profit communications
  • Video production experience, with a proficiency in Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects, or similar software
