About the Role:

This exciting position will provide administrative support to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Lived Experience Centre is the first of its kind, and aims to build a network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience participants to enable mental health services to deliver culturally focused and safe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led suicide prevention and mental wellbeing.

This position works collaboratively with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre team to provide effective support to the Head of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre and the general team.

Key Duties:

The position will support the scoping, consultation and development a network of lived experience advisors along with the coordination of training and support resource.

  • Provide a high level of administrative support to the Head of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre
  • Act as first point of contact for all enquiries to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre
  • Arrange meetings, workplace events, and manage the calendar for the Head of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre
  • Arrange travel accommodation and conference registration when required
  • Co-ordinate functions this includes team meetings, external meetings and governance meetings for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required to undertake the project, as requested by the Head of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience Centre, or as required by Black Dog Institute staff procedures

About You:

This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified position. The successful candidate will identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and have the following:

  • Demonstrated administrative experience and/or project support
  • High level computer literacy skills, including experience with MS Office applications
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
