ABOUT THE ROLE

We are excited to welcome a highly skilled Major Donor and Bequest Manager to the Philanthropy & Partnerships team on a permanent full-time or part time basis, at least 3 days per week. As a flexible workplace, your role will be a combination of days in the office and others from home. This role will build on the success of existing fundraising efforts to drive all aspects of the Major Donor and Bequest portfolios and achieve significant budget targets. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and engaged team who are leading the charge to ensure Barnardos programs are funded now and into the future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the major donor pipeline, working closely with our valued donors to create maximum engagement through exceptional relationship management
  • Identify and approach new major donor prospects
  • Write and develop compelling communications and funding proposals to meet set income targets, and provide high quality impact reporting
  • Provide outstanding stewardship to create mutually beneficial engagement opportunities such as functions and program visits
  • Implementation of Bequest program to increase the number of interested, intending and confirmed bequestors
  • Plan and prepare annual budgets, and monitor performance to achieve budget
  • Build relationships with key front-line staff to build your program knowledge to support stewardship efforts
  • Be a database ninja by recording all key activity in our database including timely communications and receipting
  • Work as part of a proactive and collaborative team, contributing to the success of the overall group on wider fundraising goals

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Proven success in major donor fundraising and knowledge of the Australian philanthropic landscape
  • Excellent relationship management capability and client focussed approach to our wonderful donor group
  • Demonstrated experience driving income raising strategies and a proven track record of delivery against income targets
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and database systems (Raiser’s Edge an advantage)
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team on shared goals
  • Experience in Bequests is highly desirable but not essential
