About your new role:

We are seeking an experienced Scheduler with strong scheduling experience to join our aged care team in Brookton on a part-time basis. Working closely with the Manager and Administration team, this position schedules and organises staffing within the facility to provide services efficiently and effectively to residents that ensure a high quality of care and service delivery.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous scheduling & payroll experience (healthcare/aged care preferred)
  • Strong experience in rostering and/or scheduling using a comprehensive electronic rostering system (Kronos preferred)
  • Excellent time management, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and customers
  • An ability to interpret Awards and Agreements and to consider and apply in rostering practice
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
  • Willingness to obtain or provide proof of Influenza & Covid-19 Vaccination
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical
  • Willingness to obtain National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check

Duties:

  • Prepares and manages rosters within the facility. In doing so, ensures:
    • Consistent assignment of staff to resident groups that supports resident wellbeing.
    • Rosters reflect staff availability and are within the allocated and approved hours/budget.
    • Rosters are developed in advance and staff notified at least two weeks prior to the commencement date.
    • All vacant shifts are filled, following established protocols and approvals.
    • Staff are rostered for mandatory, role specific and ad-hoc training.
    • Roster is updated on a daily basis to reflect shift and staff changes, following commencement of the roster.
  • Monitors vacant shifts to ensure recruitment is undertaken in a timely manner to minimise the use of agency in line with established protocols and approvals. This includes assisting with the recruitment of new staff.
  • Manages leave effectively to maintain appropriate levels of staff cover.
  • Liaises with People and Culture for new contracts and variations to contracts.
  • Assists staff as first point of contact for pay enquiries and liaises with Payroll.
  • Office and administrative support, such as filing, telephones, reporting.
  • Reception leave cover as required

Roster:

  • Part-Time – 4 days a week
  • 60 hours a fortnight
