General Manager - Risk, Quality, Governance & Safety

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer the General Manager Risk, Quality, Governance and Safety is an integral part of our Senior Leadership team.

This strategic position leads the delivery of a substantial program including internal audit, risk management, governance, quality and safety to achieve Baptistcare’s goals and ensure that practices within these areas comply with legislative and regulatory requirements and policy direction.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating an organisation culture focussed on safety, risk management and quality, incorporating the principles of the three lines of defence. This will be achieved through building organisational capacity to manage risk on a more integrated and comprehensive basis.

Key skills include but are not limited to:

  • Alignment to our Values and ‘love to see’ behaviours
  • Significant (5+ years) senior leadership experience in a similar role with demonstrated capability to drive organisational performance and efficiency, develop strategies to manage financial, strategic and operational risks and identify opportunities to improve the business
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of risk management, quality, governance and safety strategies and frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in leading an organisation through a period of change and delivering cultural improvement
  • Highly developed analytical and evaluation skills, including the ability to provide effective high-level innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, with a proven capacity to negotiate and gain agreement from a variety of stakeholders in potentially challenging circumstances
  • Proven ability to lead teams to ensure they understand and meet performance targets
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to win the respect and confidence of the Baptistcare Board, Executive Management team and a diverse group of Baptistcare leaders

The ideal candidate has experience working in or with the health or community services sector, including familiarity with legislative, statutory and regulatory obligations for not-for-profit companies.
