About the Role:

The Recruitment and Retention Worker of the Foster Care Team plays a pivotal role in supporting the team to deliver the Foster Care service to ensure high quality temporary home-based care in a nurturing, positive family environment is achieved for children and young people who are unable to live in the care of their immediate family. The role reports to the Foster Care Team Leader and indirectly to the Care and Support Services Manager.

The role develops, implements and manages a range of processes designed to engage, attract, train and maintain a strong workforce of carers with a focus on customer service. This role supports the team to deliver evidence informed best practice programs and services, as directed by the Leadership Team, in line with Baptcare strategic objectives for the Family and Children's Services teams in Victoria.

Skills, Duties and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or another relevant Human Services qualification
  • Experience in working in the Children, Youth and Families sector
  • Significant leadership experience preferably within the Out of Home care sector
  • Demonstrated commitment to the needs of children, vulnerable people and people with a disability; people from a culturally or linguistically diverse background; and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Participate in and contribute to program development and innovation
  • Comply with relevant legislation and Baptcare and DHHS policies and procedures
  • Participate in and contribute to program development and innovation
  • Commitment to children's safety and best interests, and duty of care in the prevention, identification and response to child abuse
  • Complete training and assessment of potential foster carers using Shared Lives Victoria and Step by Step Assessment
