About the Role

Our Aged Care facility in Footscray has a new opportunity available for a Maintenance Officer. We are seeking a competent, reliable and flexible Maintenance Officer to ensure the facility is provided with a timely, skilled and customer focused maintenance service. This position is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Supervisor with the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the facility's assets, supervision of contractor works and ensuring a secure and safe environment for all stakeholders.

This role will support the Maintenance Supervisor in the following areas:

• Manage Workplace Health & Safety responsibilities for Property related operations and contractor management including the maintaining of any required documentation and/or systems
• Manage the site maintenance program both reactive and programed. Ensure all works are done to best practice and meets all legislative and accreditation standards including the maintaining of any required documentation and or systems
• Assumes the onsite responsibility for the managing and maintenance of the Essential Services Maintenance (ESM) requirements including the maintaining of any required documentation and/or systems
• Ensure the preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to & up to date, and any request for maintenance is responded to in a timely manner
• Ensure the level of local repairs are attended to promptly & use of external contractors is reviewed by the Site Manager as required
• Attend site meetings & all mandatory staff training as directed by Site Manager
• Liaise with both internal & external customers (Residents, families, contractors & visitors) in a compassionate, helpful manner that best reflects Baptcare's Mission & Vision statement
• Maintain strict privacy & dignity in all dealings with Residents and Staff

Skills and Experience

• Relevant experience in facility maintenance service delivery and management
• Basic computer skills (Office Word & Excel)
• Trade certificate or other relevant building / trade qualifications (preferred)
• Current Driver's Licence (essential)
