Banyule's Community and Social Planning Unit is seeking an experienced Community & Social/Health Planner. The Community and Social Planning unit sits within Health, Aged, and Community Planning Department. The unit provides organisational leadership in social policy and community engagement.

A little bit about the role

As a Community & Social/Health Planner you will:

  • Provide policy and strategic direction to Council regarding inclusion, access and equity and community and social health and wellbeing
  • Develop and support internal and external partnerships, and undertake projects to improve inclusion, access and equity, and community and social health and wellbeing
  • Lead the development and implementation of the integrated Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences community planning or a related field or experience
  • Program experience and an understanding of community & social planning, inclusion, access and equity & wellbeing
  • Demonstrated ability to gain co-operation of staff, relevant agencies and members of the community
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including advocacy, negotiation and conflict management
  • Experience in data analysis and use of data to improve program planning
  • Well-developed computer skills

  • $86,182.74 to $93,696.04 plus super (pro rata)
