We currently have an exciting permanent, full time opportunity for an Information Security Support Officer to join our Information Security team. This role will contribute towards the establishment and maintenance of a well-structured and mature cyber security environment. They will also be responsible for testing and verification of a wide range of security controls across internal and third party systems, whilst supporting the team to build cyber security situational awareness.

What you will be doing

  • Providing first level security incident response support including monitoring and analysing security logs and events
  • Responding to and resolving information security tickets and queries
  • Maintaining vulnerability management and penetration testing processes
  • Keeping abreast of trends in cyber security, threat intelligence and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to protect Bank Australia from cyber security threats and provide input to regular security reporting
  • Testing and verifying security controls across internal and third party systems
  • Providing input to regular security reporting, including security control status and trends in adversary behaviours
  • Support governance, risk and compliance activities.

What you will bring

  • Interest in and passion for information security
  • Knowledge of attack vectors, threat tactics and attacker techniques
  • Knowledge of application, infrastructure and networking technologies including best practice and related standards
  • Understanding of current cyber security threat trends and how to protect and defend these threats
  • Exposure to working with security controls such as SIEMs, endpoint security solutions, email security gateways, web proxies would be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders on risk levels, adverse events and remediation plans
  • Understanding of security technologies used to detect, contain or prevent security incidents such as IDS/IPS, Endpoint Security, Firewalls, Content Inspection and SIEM
  • A detail oriented personality with strong problem solving and analytics skills
  • Knowledge of core infrastructure technologies, such as (but not limited to) Active Directory, workstation and server platforms, networking and cloud services
  • Knowledge of industry cyber security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/2, ASD essential 8, PCI DSS, APRA CPS234 would be an advantage
  • Relevant cyber security certifications or related qualifications preferred
