We currently have an exciting permanent, full time opportunity for an Information Security Engineer to deploy and maintain information security infrastructure and services across the organisation. Reporting to the Manager, Information Security, and as a key member of the security team, you will have the opportunity to contribute towards the establishment and maintenance of a well-structured and mature security environment, plus work on some very exciting cyber security projects.

What you will be doing

  • Contribute to technology strategies and product selections
  • Coordinate and lead technical implementation activities including developing and maintaining technical designs and related technical documentation
  • Implement, manage and support cyber security technologies such as Endpoint Detection and Response, Privileged Access Management, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Data Loss Prevention, disk encryption, MFA, Email and Web Security and security event logging systems in alignment with Bank Australia’s information security policies and standards
  • Respond to security changes and requests by implementing and updating security technologies and ensuring they are in an operational and efficient state of readiness;
  • Proactively perform security monitoring and situational awareness, responding to security incidents and problems
  • Provide input into regular security reporting including reporting on cyber security status, incidents, trends in adversary behaviours and the development and maintenance of operational run books and processes
  • Identify and appropriately manage security risks and drive opportunities to improve security within the Bank Australia environment
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and improve service to business users and enhance knowledge and information sharing
  • Work with various product vendors in troubleshooting complex issues or identifying new capabilities to meet changing business requirements.

What you will bring

  • Ideally one or more related certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISA, CISM etc.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Hands-on experience as a Security Engineer specialising in aspects of security infrastructure administration and configuration and/or network security
  • Expert knowledge of cyber security infrastructure technologies, best practices and broad knowledge of network security concepts
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing security infrastructure, including Endpoint Detection and Response, Privileged Access Management, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Data Loss Prevention, IPS/ISD, Firewalls, disk encryption, MFA, Email and Web Security and security event logging systems
  • Understanding of current Cyber Security technology trends
  • Ability to analyse event and systems logs from various network and security technologies, analyse malware and other incident response related data. Knowledge of attack vectors, threat tactics and attacker techniques
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with core infrastructure technologies, such as (but not limited to) Active Directory, Windows Workstation and Server, networking, monitoring, cloud services
  • Exposure and understanding of cyber security standards such as the NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO27001, PCI DSS
  • Familiarity with the banking industry and an understanding of APRA Prudential Standards relating to Cyber Security
  • Experience in the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures and standards
  • Problem solving and analytical skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Strong communications skills – both verbal and written, ability to share knowledge and educate others
