Midwife Preceptor Trainer (voluntary) - Khesar Gyalpo University for Medical Sciences Bhutan - Remote

Australian Volunteers Program

About the assignment

The Faculty of Nursing and Public Health is one among three faculties under the newly established Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan and has recently been accredited by the National Accreditation Board. The Faculty of Nursing and Public Health (FNPH) does not currently have qualified preceptors to guide Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery students. Therefore, the faculty requires a midwife preceptor with ample experience to guide the faculty in developing formal guidelines and implementing a structured preceptorship. The preceptorship in Australia is strong with structured guiding principles, therefore a volunteer with preceptor knowledge and skills will be beneficial in strengthening the proctorship in nursing and midwifery education.

  • You’ll be preparing training for the midwifery faculty on preceptorship, supporting the faculty to deliver training and guidelines for midwife preceptorship
  • You’ll need to be a qualified registered nurse and demonstrated experience as a preceptor with midwifery students
  • You’ll gain the opportunity to support the training of future midwifes in Bhutan

We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer internationally and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. - Find out more
