About the Partner Organisation:

The Women's Development Division (WDD) is committed to promoting the development, empowerment and participation of women across Guadalcanal Province. The (WDD) is responsible for the implementation of the Solomon Islands Government's policies on gender and women’s empowerment in rural communities.

WDD plan to help empower women and girls to become active and equal partners with men and boys in creating sustainable development. To do this, WDD need help with fundraising, specifically preparing detailed and successful proposal and funding applications. They would also benefit from a mentor who could both facilitate new partnerships and put systems and processes in place for local staff to secure and sustain new partnerships in the future.

About the Position: 

• You’ll be working directly with key staff to improve their grant writing skills and capabilities and develop a fundraising strategy as well as build staff capacity in this area.
• You’ll have Project Management experience, have written and/or assessed grant funding proposals and have knowledge of how to access funding opportunities.
• You will gain a unique understanding of the issues facing women across The Solomon Islands and help to support their needs.
