Remote / Work from Home
The National Commission on Violence against Women is an independent state institution for upholding the human rights of Indonesian women. Komnas Perempuan was formed through Presidential Decree No. 181 of 1998, on 9 October 1998, which was strengthened by Presidential Regulation No. 65 of 2005. Komnas Perempuan was born from the demands of civil society, especially women, for the government to realise the state's responsibility in responding to and dealing with problems of violence against women.
Komnas Perempuan has grown to become one of the National Human Rights Institutions (LNHAM), according to the general criteria developed in The Paris Principles. Komnas Perempuan's active role has made this institution an example of various parties in developing and strengthening human rights mechanisms for advancing efforts to eliminate violence against women at the local, national, regional and international levels.
Komnas Perempuan needs an English native volunteer who can translate documents in Bahasa Indonesia -- or the other way around if required, to be published in our bilingual website in 2021 and other important documents which will be used for Komnas Perempuan's international advocacy. Since Komnas Perempuan is one of The National Human Rights Institutions in Indonesia, the documents produced will closely relate with human rights, violence against women, gender based violence, law reforms, disability women, national and international advocacy, and other relevant terms.
We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer internationally and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. - Find out more.
