Australian Volunteers Program

The overarching goal of the NRL Tonga program is to use the sport of rugby league to engage and develop communities to improve health, gender equality (with a particular focus on prevention of gender-based violence), social cohesion and participation opportunities for people with a disability. In 2018 NRL launched the Voices against Violence program, with this program there is a need for extra support within the organisation. This assignment will give you the opportunity to share your skills with local staff, and support capacity development in project management and evaluation as well as donor identification and project proposal writing.

  • In this role you will assist in developing the best practice skills and processes in project management, communication and counselling and community awareness campaigns. You will also support the development of a strategic approach from local, national and international organisations.
  • To be successful in this role you will have a relevant qualification in public gender, health, community development, adult education or other related field. You will have a proven track record in community development or community project management (preferably within multicultural communities). Additionally you will have demonstrated experience in working in the area of gender-based violence.
  • Combine your passion for sport for development and ending gender based violence to support the work of NRL Tonga.
