About the Role

A newly created opportunity has become available in our Finance team for a highly experienced and motivated Financial Controller. 

Reporting to the CFO, this person will be responsible for providing financial leadership and executing robust financial management strategies to support the sustainability, development and growth of Autism Qld Ltd.

This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis and will based at our Corporate Office at Acacia Ridge with work from home arrangements also currently available. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document and lead implementation of sound financial systems, policies, procedures and improvement processes
  • Lead and provide effective performance management of the Finance team
  • Provide effective management of Finance functions including funding, acquittals, debtors, creditors, asset management and payroll
  • Perform and oversight Finance functions in a multi cost centre environment
  • Work collaboratively with individual business unit managers and senior managers
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with external stakeholders, funding bodies and auditors
  • Support and relieve CFO as required

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Minimum 5 years sound financial and management accounting experience, with proven accounting skills, particularly budgeting and variance analysis
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with month-end processes in a multi cost-centre environment
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a small team while building and maintaining effective client-focused stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with proven effectiveness in systems review, improvement processes and documentation
  • Not for profit experience, board report preparation and system implementation experience is highly desirable
