About the role

We are expanding our School Aged Therapy Team and have a unique and exciting opportunity for teachers, educators or individuals with a teaching background, to join our dynamic team as a Therapy Assistant- Inclusion Facilitator.

The role will support the integration of therapy goals into Individual Education plans, to maximise inclusion and participation of students with Autism. This innovative position will work in collaboration with a team of specialist Autism therapists including Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists.

Positions available based from Shenton Park, Subiaco, East Fremantle, Joondalup, Gosnells and Midland. Flexible working hours are available including ability to work within school hours.

Responsibilities

  • School and home visits to implement therapy goals in collaboration with the school and family
  • Delivering school holiday & after school therapy groups
  • Development of visual resources and supports
  • Participate in Multi-disciplinary team meetings and training

About you

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with developmental delays, ideally a minimum of 6 months
  • Passion for supporting children with Autism and their families
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, energy and confidence to adapt and be flexible
  • Courage to think outside the box and be solution focussed

Desirable

  • A qualification in a related field such as Education, Childcare, or Disability services, or;
  • A student of Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Education or Psychology
  • A sound knowledge of the Australian educational Curriculum
  • Sound knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder
