We are guided by our shared values of Passion, Respect, Commitment, Excellence, Innovation and Courage.

About the Opportunity

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll work with a small number of adults living in a group home to maximise independence and develop life skills. This can include things many of us take for granted such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, or attending appointments. Each shift is individualised to the person you will be supporting and based around their needs, interests and hobbies – imagine a role where your day might include kicking the footy, spending time in the garden or going to the beach, all the while making a positive difference in someone’s life!

About you

  • Firstly, we are interested in your attributes and attitudes. We are seeking people who demonstrate:
  • Kindness in your thinking and actions – you must be able to demonstrate that you put the person first.
  • Understanding that every person is different, and regardless, equal in value.
  • Patience for people and their differences – you must be able to demonstrate that you have the resilience to remain engaged even when progress is challenging.
  • Connectedness to people – you must be able to demonstrate that you have the ability to find common ground, build rapport and connect to people who are not necessarily like you.
  • Confidence – you must be able to demonstrate the ability to respond to situations in a manner that supports positive outcomes.
  • We also want to know about your knowledge skills and abilities, specifically that you have:
  • Highly developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Sound and fast decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Good domestic skills.
  • Ability to support someone with activities of daily living and personal care.

To be considered you must be available for a 3-week rotating roster that includes either 1 or 2.5 overnight stays. To be considered you will also be required to have a current influenza vaccination, full drivers license, and a suitable vehicle along with the required worker screening checks to work in the disability sector.

Not only will you be making a meaningful positive impact on someone’s life while being part of a friendly dedicated team, you’ll receive ongoing training and development from experts in the sector along with a competitive salary of $69k - $76k + super + salary packaging.
