Autism Adventures is an organisation that specialises in delivering services to teenagers and young adults with high-functioning autism. Some participants present with complex needs, eg comorbid conditions, including mental health needs.

We are looking for dedicated Support Workers to work across Brisbane and Moreton Bay areas, who will put their clients first, who will go above and beyond to make opportunities happen for their clients, which align with their individual life goals.

The right candidate will be given support and mentoring, which will enable you to develop your own client base and hours. This is not a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday job, this is about a passion to bring out the best in the clients who receive Autism Adventures' support.

POSITION CRITERIA

  • Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or Community Services, or similar, or working towards completing qualification within 12 months (essential)
  • Practical experience in supporting and mentoring people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (essential)
  • Understanding and experience in supporting people with mental health issues will be considered favourably
  • Experience in developing and implementing programs that meet the wants, needs and interests of individuals
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively with participants, their families/carers, other service providers and professionals
  • Hold a Blue and Yellow Card (QLD) – or willing to obtain
  • Hold a current drivers license and own a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance (essential)
