Aussie Youth Care is a registered NDIS provider providing a safe, secure and supportive environment for youth struggling through disabilities from ages 8 to 18. We are looking for skilled, knowledgeable and passionate team leaders to lead and support their team of disability support workers in assisting our youth with any future endeavours in their lives. Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain leadership role and management of staff
  • Be responsible for leading and supporting your team of disability support workers towards our mutual goal of supporting our clients
  • Demonstrating initiative when working without direct supervision
  • Managing time, planning and organising work schedules.
  • Train and develop skill and passionate support workers
  • Facilitate the development of person centred plans
  • Have knowledge of and commitment to OH&S procedures
  • Being the contact point for all staff members in the group home
  • Allocation of staff activities
  • Ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Set clear team goals
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines
  • Oversee day-to-day operation
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics
  • Motivate staff members
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching
  • Organising the Training Programs
  • Listen to staff members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Recognise high performance and reward accomplishments
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking
  • Suggest and organise team building

Skills & Abilities (preferable)

  • Experience in working with and supporting a range of people with disability and understanding their complex needs for at least 2 to 3 years would be preferable
  • Excellent communication, organisation, presentation and leadership skills
  • Ability to train and develop good and passionate support workers
  • Have high levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude.
  • Reliable and have a sense of commitment in his responsibilities and duties to achieving excellence in the community service sector
  • Team focused
  • Good people skills to encourage and build up a good, knowledgeable and skilful team of support workers
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Experience in writing assessments and reports to monitor team and client progress
  • Ability to work in team and maintain a good relationship
  • Dedication to delivering high quality evidence-based services
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Have compassion and enthusiasm, with a friendly, approachable attitude

Essentials

  • Youth Worker Certificate
  • Current Police Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Disability or Community Participation Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Work entitlement in Australia eg. Australian citizenship, permanent residence or student visa
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • 100 points verification

Successful candidate will need to get an NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
