What you will do

Australian Red Cross Emergency Services are seeking an operational manager as the State Lead for Recovery and Preparedness. This role is a senior leader in the Victoria branch of Red Cross and will support the State Manager in day to day activities. This role will lead a team of recovery staff and volunteers following the significant summer bushfires and now COVID.

Together with fire affected communities, government, business, community organisations, this role will support communities with best practice disaster recovery resources and programs, including research, advocacy and community activity.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of evidence based services and preparedness programs within Victoria. You will be required to represent Red Cross in a range of multi-agency forums with executive leaders and politically appointed personnel.

What you will bring

  • Experience in management, partnership development and program design
  • Extensive experience in emergency management and/or community leadership
  • Sound understanding of emergency preparedness, response and recovery arrangements
  • Significant experience in research, data analytics, and reporting
  • Proven ability to produce high quality written reports and to manage program finances and budgets
  • High level developed oral and written communication skills, including public speaking

A Working with Children Check and current driver’s licence are mandatory requirements of this role
