Our Lady Lawley Cottage

Lady Lawley Cottage offers children and young people with disability a range of supports tailored to meet their individual needs.

The team works across two purpose-designed premises in Cottesloe and East Fremantle as well as in the community, providing a home-away-from-home experience including Day & Short Stays, High Needs and Positive Behaviour Support.

What you’d be doing

Join our dedicated, person centred and diverse team. Provide the highest standard of personal care, social and recreational activity support to meet the needs of our clients. Work within an environment designed to empower people with disabilities through good communication and promoting independence.

The role includes work on-site at Lady Lawley Cottage as well as in the community including family homes and schools as required.

About the hours

We’re flexible with hours. Days, Afternoons and Overnight available. With rostering we look at your preferred shift availability and where possible, we like to offer regular consistent shifts.  We offer 30 days annual leave (pro rata) and an additional 5 days leave per year for staff who work a combination of shifts.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated experience providing quality services and maintaining an environment to empower people with disabilities
  • Demonstrated experience providing personal care, managing challenging behaviours  and prioritising workloads for effective outcomes
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the rights of people with disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to be an advocate for clients and support community participation

Qualifications

  • Cert III in Disability Services or similar
  • Laboratory screening tests for immunology against childhood diseases
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Manual Handling
  • A Working with Children check is a mandatory requirement for this role
