About this opportunity

The Government of South Australia has announced that Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) will be distributed free of charge to members of the public who meet specified criteria as determined by SA Health. Red Cross has been asked by the Government for assistance to support the distribution of these tests at Rapid Antigen Test Pick Up Points in Pt Lincoln and Mt Barker. This request has been made of Red Cross as an auxiliary to government and participating organisation under the State Emergency Management Plan.

We welcome applications for these roles from members of the public over the age of 18. Red Cross volunteers are also strongly encouraged to apply.

About the role

Distribution Team Members will report to the Site Coordinator, and undertake the effective and efficient distribution of Rapid Antigen Tests, to eligible persons and in accordance with identified distribution and health and safety procedures, at a Rapid Antigen Test Pick Up Point (RATPUP). This involves working with onsite team members and directly engaging with members of the public.

Things to consider about the site

  • Site operates 7 days per week from 8:00am – 6:00pm
  • Hours of operation may change depending on weather and demand
  • Drive-through pick up points for the public to access Rapid Antigen Tests
  • Outdoor settings, with some site facilities in place

  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Patience and empathy, resilience, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict in a productive and respectful manner
  • Ability to learn quickly and provide a high level of customer service

Planning has been undertaken to assess and mitigate the potential risks associated with these roles. Before applying, it’s important you have closely considered your own personal risk factors associated with the performance of the requirements of these roles.

Additional role requirements for you to consider

  • Online training will be provided by Government of South Australia to complete (Site Distribution Coordinators)
  • All staff will Attend a pre-deployment interview, site induction, and shift briefings/de-briefings
  • Full PPE will be provided and must be always worn on site
  • A Rapid Antigen Test will be provided and must be undertaken prior to commencement of each shift
