About this opportunity

Red Cross has been asked by the South Australian Government for assistance to support the distribution of Rapid Antigen Tests to the SA public, at Rapid Antigen Test Pick Up Points within South Australia. This request has been made of Red Cross as an auxiliary to government and participating organisation under the State Emergency Management Plan.

As part of your application, you’ll be able to provide up to 4 location preferences across metropolitan and regional areas of South Australia. This will help us to prioritise your preferences and rapidly respond to any additional sites we may be asked to support in the future.

We welcome applications for these roles from  members of the public over the age of 18. Red Cross volunteers are also strongly encouraged to apply.

About the role

These roles will coordinate the effective and efficient distribution of Rapid Antigen Tests to eligible persons and in accordance with identified distribution and health and safety procedures, at a Rapid Antigen Test Pick Up Point. This means working with onsite team members and directly engaging with members of the public.

Things to consider about these sites

  • Sites operate 7 days per week from 8:00am – 6:00pm
  • Hours of operation may change depending on weather and demand
  • Drive-through pick up points for the public to access Rapid Antigen Tests
  • Outdoor settings, with some site facilities in place
  • Rolling commencement of site locations from 18 January for at least a 4-8 week period.

  • Ability to learn quickly and provide a high level of customer service

The health and safety of our Red Cross people is paramount

Planning has been undertaken to assess and mitigate the potential risks associated with these roles. Before applying, it’s important you have closely considered your own personal risk factors associated with the performance of the requirements of these roles.

Additional role requirements for you to consider

  • Online training will be provided by Government of South Australia to complete (Site Distribution Coordinators)
  • Evidence of compliance with the Emergency Management (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination No 5) (COVID-19) Direction 2022 effective 29 January 2022 will be required i.e. having had two vaccinations and a booster dose (or a booking to have a booster dose) within four weeks of becoming eligible
  • All staff will Attend a pre-deployment interview, site induction, and shift briefings/de-briefings
  • Full PPE will be provided and must be always worn on site
  • A Rapid Antigen Test will be provided and must be undertaken prior to commencement of each shift
