The Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference of Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) serves as the main regional platform to promote cooperation on disaster risk reduction (DRR) in the region and aims to accelerate efforts to reduce and prevent disaster losses through the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. Held every two years, the conference brings together more than 3,000 participants representing governments, inter-governmental organisations, non-governmental organisations and relevant stakeholder groups from a range of disciplines including development, finance, insurance, data science and the private sector.
The 2020 APMCDRR is being held in Australia at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 29 June to 3 July 2020 and is supported by Australian Red Cross. The conference is co-organised by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the Australian Government, represented by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Department of Home Affairs.
The Project Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the volunteer program project for The Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference of Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR). The project will encompass all aspects of the program including recruitment, training and stakeholder engagement.
