About the role

This is a new and exciting role working across Australian Red Cross’ (ARC) International Response and Asia Program teams. We are looking for someone who has strong partnership skills and a passion for better humanitarian outcomes. Our ideal new staff member will have a sound knowledge and grasp of humanitarian issues and the sector as well experience and understanding (lived as well as professional) of how communities cope with and respond to crisis and disasters in the Asia region.

Key responsibilities include

  • Building and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with key stakeholders including National Societies, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent and International Committee of the Red Cross focal points; the Australian Government, donor focal points; and staff, volunteers and members of ARC
  • Broker new partnerships and funding opportunities to improve the diversification of resources and program partnerships
  • Providing programming support to ARC partner National Societies in the Asia region, including preparing legal agreements and program framework documentation; research; and monitoring and evaluation.

What you will bring

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Understanding of working with and through partners to achieve shared goals
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively in a cross-cultural setting
  • Experience working in disaster preparedness, response or recovery
  • Demonstrated capacity of working within, contributing to information management systems and monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks
