About the role 

As an organisation independent of government and with no political, religious or cultural affiliation, our vision is human dignity, peace, safety and well-being for all. The Birth Family Advocacy service supports Birth Families with a diverse range of cultural backgrounds where there are children and young people at risk of or who have entered the care system. This role will provide direct client support, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders, provide reporting and lead a team of volunteers. 

What you will bring 

  • Leadership and management experience (staff and volunteers) 
  • The ability to facilitate workshops and presentations of the program to both clients and stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify situations or issues, consider options and develop solutions 
  • Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of cultural differences and diversity in the workplace 
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, listen effectively and provide feedback constructively 

The ability to obtain an ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card with no conditions is a mandatory requirement for this role as is a current drivers license.
