Position Objectives

An excellent opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Speech Pathologist to join our Allied Health Care Team on contract basis. This position involves providing Speech Pathology services to pediatric clients and their families at our centre and in the community. Knowledge or experience working under the NDIS would also be highly regarded.

You must be eligible for membership to Speech Pathology Australia and hold a current Working with Children Check and valid driver's licence.

The key duties include:

  • Show initiative, and demonstrate ability to work independently as well as part of a mutli- disciplinary team
  • Create tailored and industry-specific programs for centre use
  • Speech Pathology: varied case load
  • Paediatrics to working with eldery
  • Home visits, School visits, Aged Care, NDIS, DVA, some private caseloads
  • Early learning classes
  • Swallowing and communication
  • Collaboration with OT's and Physio's
  • May be required to work in both Warwick and Stanthorpe branches
  • Support is offered from other staff as well as the opportunity to work independently
  • Graduate Mentor Program and clinical supervision

Desirable Criteria

  • Eligible for registration with Medicare as an approved provider
  • Bilingual language skills - Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Turkish, Candidates Filipino/Tagalog, Urdu, Greek, Spanish (highly regarded)

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Skills & Experience:

  • Full Australian Work Rights
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a Speech Pathologist
  • Relevant Bachelors or Masters Degree
  • Speech Pathology Australia membership with CPSP eligibility
  • Working with Children's Check
  • Access to own vehicle and current driver's licence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and families
  • A keen passion for working with children and their families
  • Excellent time management skills
