Grants Officer (voluntary)

Responsibilities

  • Secure financial support from foundations and other institutional sources
  • Support the development and maintenance of ongoing relationships with foundation funders
  • Develop and track grant proposals and report deadlines
  • Coordinate the proposal writing and proposal submission process; ensures all proposals meet standards and policies
  • Manages a portfolio of the organisation’s supporting foundations and assists in cultivation and stewardship activities for funders
  • Research prospective foundations to build relationships with, supporting the Development Team’s overall cultivation goals
  • Seek feedback from funding bodies where required, report any findings to the wider Development Team and relevant Board Member/s and apply learnings to future submissions - in doing so enabling an environment of continuous learning

About You

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in the non-profit space in a grants related role with a good understanding of the grant application process from strategy to implementation
  • A knack for combining data and story towards engaging and persuasive copy
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills
  • Some previous experience in managing relationships and client portfolios
  • Able to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week for a minimum of 12 months
