About the role

The WHS Advisor will assist with work health and safety implementation, incident and injury management across the organisation as per ATSICHS Brisbane’s Quality Policy and Procedures Manual. They will also work collaboratively with key internal contacts to ensure relevance and effectiveness of frameworks and processes as well as working with People & Culture to identify training needs and requirements.

The WHS Advisor will be involved in policies/procedure development and supporting systems and frameworks for ensuring individual project’s/program’s design and objectives are met, to ensure the long-term sustainability and viability of ATSICHS Brisbane. The position will assist positive change through continuous improvement within ATSICHS as per the National CQI Framework for Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander Primary Health Care 2015-2025. Furthermore the role will assist the Manager, Safety & Quality in developing and implementing processes to ensure service improvement continues to develop in a positive way.

About you

Essential:

  • Minimum Diploma of Work Health and Safety
  • Fire Safety Advisor
  • Previous experience in WHS roles
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience in WHS methodologies.
  • Experience in managing Workcover cases
  • Demonstrated experience in comparable not for profit, government or private sector organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in networking and liaising with relevant external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
  • Ability to assist people through cultural change and change management opportunities.
  • Ability to assist continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
  • Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills.
  • Ability to utilise participative practices and adopt a supportive leadership style to achieve real and tangible quality outcomes.
  • Working with Children’s Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply
