About the Role:

The Registered Nurse provides high level clinical care to Jimbelunga residents. This includes ongoing assessment, formulation, implementation, evaluation and documentation of residents care and care planning. In addition the RN will supervise personal care given by other staff and have a thorough understanding of clinical care in accordance to ACFI requirements.

Furthermore the RN will assist the Manager in their absence and manage the day-to-day functioning of the Nursing Centre so that it operates in a manner that is resident centred in accordance with ATSICHS Board of Management objectives, within legislative and regulatory requirements.  This is a permanent part-time opportunity and candidates must be willing to work night duty.

You have:

  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and their cultures and a general understanding of the issues that are affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary Australian society.
  • Bachelor of Nursing 
  • Highly developed observational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • A demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a team that is composed of staff and volunteers with varying skills and attributes and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of Aged Care Services.
  • A demonstrated ability to provide quality care within the constraints of a budget.
  • Exemplary clinical skills with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining best practice, relevant and current nursing skills and knowledge.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Effective staff management skills including staff delegation, time management and prioritising work loads.
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioners' Registration Authority (AHPRA).

Must have "National Criminal History Record Check" or "National Police Certificate" prior to commencing.
