About the Role

Role Functions

The Clinical Nurse Manager will supervise personal care to our residents by other staff and have a thorough understanding of clinical care in accordance to ACFI requirements. Furthermore the Clinical Nurse Manager will assist the other Managers in their absence and manage the day-to-day functioning of the Nursing Centre so that it continues to operate in a manner that is resident centred in accordance with ATSICHS Board of Management objectives, within legislative and regulatory requirements.

Organisational Contributions

The role will assist the Director of Nursing in developing, implementing and reviewing strategies, policies and procedures as well as keep abreast of industry trends and changes in order to provide relevant and useful advice. The role will also manage the nursing unit staff particularly in providing operational leadership and support.

Contribute to the Development of a Flourishing Team

Support fellow staff and provide effective leadership, guidance and support in a team environment to build collegiality and a sense of belonging within the team and ATSICHS family. Staff will actively participate in team activities and contribute to a flourishing workplace culture that promotes the ethos and values of ATSICHS Brisbane as a long standing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.

About you

Essential:

  • Minimum Bachelor in Nursing.
  • Unrestricted registration with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA).
  • Minimum one (1) years’ experience in managing a team in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar role.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal Aged Care Legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
  • Ability to lead, guide and manage people including the implementation of cultural change and change management opportunities.
  • Ability to support and manage a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
  • Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills.
  • Working with Children’s Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
  • Must have "National Criminal History Record Check" or "National Police Certificate" prior to commencing.

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Previous experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Previous experience in overseeing and coordinating Aged Care processes and procedures.
