Apply your expertise in the development and documentation of policies and frameworks, and help make a real impact in reducing domestic, family and sexual violence against women and their children.

As the Senior Policy Officer, you contribute to the development and implementation of the domestic, family and sexual violence reduction portfolio. Your role is to facilitate and coordinate engagement, consultations and negotiations with regional, intra governmental and non-government stakeholders. Your key duties include, undertaking good practice policy and evidenced based program implementation with a strong focus on domestic, family and sexual violence reduction. You will also build and sustain productive relationships with frontline staff and key stakeholders to encourage cultivating strong and effective relationships. In addition you will coordinate and prepare complex documents including Ministerial and Legislative Assembly briefings and Cabinet submissions.

To be successful, you require excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to produce a range of high quality written material, including the development of policies and procedures, and the research and preparation of high level reports and Cabinet submissions. Highly developed analytical, advisory, research and negotiation skills with an awareness of the political, socio-cultural and economic landscape are essential.

Tertiary qualifications in social or political science, public policy, community development, sociology and an understanding of the Northern Territory government processes would be well received.
