Our Greater Darwin Region has an immediate need for an experienced Child Protection Practitioner in their Darwin and Palmerston office to provide statutory and non-statutory welfare services to individuals, groups and communities in the Greater Darwin Region for the Northern Territory.

As a Senior Practitioner, you are responsible for delivering assessment and initial case work services, and enhancing the skills, knowledge and capabilities of your colleagues and partner services through the provision of your professional expertise and demonstrated best practice. You will also undertake statutory responsibilities and exercise delegations under the Care and Protection of Children Act.

To be successful, you are required to have completed a relevant professional qualification, have extensive experience conducting strength based assessments and interventions, and demonstrated knowledge of working within legislative frameworks. In addition, you need excellent verbal and listening skills, be computer literate and have a strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, family and communicate structures, as well as the ability to work constructively and sensitivity with people from diverse cultures.
